THE REINVENTION OF THE GREAT COMMISSION HERESY
These are critical times. Unfortunately, there are rivers of bad doctrine flowing throughout the world today using scriptures to suit their agenda. We can fight each other about what the Bible teaches or hear the truth, repent, and let go of self to let the Spirit of YHVH teach.
WHERE I STAND ON THE MATTER
I never start my articles with a doctrinal problem I am approaching other than, perhaps, a hint of it in a title line. The truth of the Word is life. With that in mind I lay the foundation of truth then the errors of the false will be revealed.
All doctrine must be tested by the TRUTH of the Word by the Spirit of YHVH. Including my own. Comparing commentaries can only lead to confusion and more deceit if the commentary doctrine is bad. All commentaries, no matter who wrote them, must be tested only by the Word and the Spirit that inspired the Word. Jesus used only the truth of the Old Testament to counter Satan’s temptations and to teach his disciples.
The last words Jesus spoke to his disciples were to teach all peoples what he taught them and to guard against false prophets. That is exactly what The Book of Acts teaches us about Paul’s ministry. Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, the epistles and Revelation’s seven letters aptly teach us God’s way to accomplish the Great Commission. The Great Commission is about spreading the gospel, not how to perform water baptism or to take over the world. Baptize in water just as Jesus was baptized, but don’t sell the Great Commission short. "The truth shall set you free" means that when a willing soul hears and accepts the truth of Jesus Christ he or she is set free from the shackles of Adam's sin. It is in that acceptance that reconciliation with YHVH by His Spirit takes place and that soul is set free from the bonds of Adam’s sin. YHVH sees what is really in a person's heart. YHVH will not share space in any heart that has unrepentant darkness.
There is a movement in the Christian community that is using Bible scriptures in a way that seems correct, but is very wrong. In order to know what the reinvention of the Great Commission is the Commission must be understood in the context that it was spoken by Jesus, otherwise bad doctrine can make its way into the Body of Christ and set root. Know the real and the counterfeit will be exposed.
Below are two versions of the Great Commission: 1) the traditional King James Version, and 2) Word of Yahavah Bible using the Hebrew name of God, YHVH (Yahavah), in place of LORD and Hebrew Elohim in place of God. Some words critical to understanding the context of the Great Commission are replaced by using Strong’s Dictionary references for those words. Both versions are of the King James Version.
UNDERSTANDING THE GREAT COMMISSION
Laying the Foundation in and of Christ
King James Version:
Mat 28:18-20— And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Word of YHVH Bible:
Matthew 28:18-20—And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority is given to me in heaven and in the earth. Go accordingly and teach all peoples, immersing them in the authority of the Father and the Son, by the Holy Spirit. Teach them to be watchmen of all that I commanded you and know I am with you always until the end of the world.”
The bold words were changed from the KJV based on the context of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Strong's Dictionary.
- Jesus is the ruler of heaven and earth.
- His command is to go and teach what he taught.
How is a person immersed (baptizing) in the authority (name) of the Father and the Son?
• The water of God’s Word in the Judeo/Christian Bible is the medium of immersion.
• The Son is the vessel through which the Spirit of his Father comes forth to reconcile in a new birth.
• The Holy Spirit a.k.a., Spirit of YHVH is the reconciler and teacher. Only the Spirit of YHVH can reveal to truth of

His Word in the Bible to the born-again Christian, ergo, "by the Holy Spirit."
- YHVH calls and ordains His prophets, apostles, preachers, and teachers. They are not made by the teachings of men.
How deep is the Great Commission?
A disciple cannot go out and teach something he or she knows little about. Matthew 28:18-20 contains five chock full statements by Jesus. Each provides Bible knowledge and understanding of who the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are. This calls for more than basic knowledge called “milk for babes” by Paul. Going deeper into the Great Commission provides the meat needed for survival. Below is an explanatory outline of each of the five statements.
A. All authority is given to me in heaven and in the earth
a. Revelation Chapter Five.

i. Jesus, the slain lamb of YHVH, ascended into heaven and received the scroll that rested on his throne

(Rev. 4:1--5:14). It is the seven sealed scroll with the seals on the outside and the Book of Life on the

ii. The Book of Life will be open when the seventh seal is complete.

1. The seventh seal tells of seven trumpets in seven years (Rev. 9:13--11:19)

(the last seven years of Daniel’s seventy-sevens prophecy) and the earthly rule of Jesus and his

resurrected for one thousand years.
B. Go accordingly and teach all peoples
b. Go in the authority of YHVH and Jesus in the power of the Spirit of YHVH.

i. Jesus was baptized by his cousin John the Baptist at the beginning of his ministry.

ii. He was also anointed by his father in the seven spirits of YHVH and his Father said He was well pleased with

1. This is what the baptism in the Holy Spirit is: reconciliation to YHVH and receiving the power of YHVH to

overcome sin by the seven spirits of YHVH. Jesus was without sin but he demonstrated this

anointment in his ministry for us and the apostles did, too. The four living creatures are further

examples-- Ezekiel and Revelation
C. Immersing them in the authority of the Father and the Son by the Holy Spirit
a. The Father’s name is YHVH,

i. He is the creator of all of the universe and beyond.

ii. He is called Father because he is the father of Jesus and all who come to Him through Jesus.
b. The Son’s name is Jesus

i. Jesus is sinless because his father is not of the line of Adam.

ii. Jesus paid the price of death for Adam’s sin for all humanity who will accept it.

iii. Jesus sets on the throne in heaven at the right hand of his father.

iv. Jesus is the door to reconciliation with YHVH.
c. The Holy Spirit’s name is YHVH

i. The Holy and infinite Spirit is the person of YHVH, just as the finite spirit is the person of a human.

1. Adam was created a finite spirit entity by the infinite Spirit of YHVH
D. Teach them to be watchmen of all that I commanded you
a. Psalm 127:1—Except YHVH (Yahavah) build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except YHVH

(Yahavah) keep the city, the watchman wakes [but] in vain.

i. Unless the Spirit of YHVH be with a man or woman his or her watchman duties are in vain

ii. YHVH builds his house and he keeps his city. These are things. The people are also His house who live in

his house and his cities. The heart of the house and city is the people whose hearts belong to Daddy
E. know I am with you always until the end of the world
a. John 14:23—If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him,

and make our abode with him.
b. John 14:26—But the Comforter, [which is] the Spirit of YHVH (Yahavah), which (My) Father will send in my

name, He (My Father) shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever

I have said unto you.
c. The Kingdom of YHVH is the manifestation of the rule of YHVH over the hearts of men by the Spirit of

YHVH through the authority of Jesus Christ.(1Samuel 8:6-7; Dan. 2:44, 7:14; Isaiah 9:6)
As you can see, the Great Commission, when fully explored, teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ and reconciliation with his father making his father our father by adoption by the power of his Father's Spirit. It also warns us to be on guard at all times.
GROWING IN THE LORD
By the Ten Commandments
The commandments that Jesus taught his disciples all centered on the heart of the Ten Commandments; “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and your neighbor as yourself” as summed up by Jesus.
The government ordered the Ten Commandments posters to be removed from school walls in 1962, three years after I graduated from high school. (I am now over 70) I liked having the Ten Commandments where I could see them. Even though I was not raised in a church environment, they gave me comfort because I knew they were the words of God. How can the children of today cope with the stresses and strains of growing up in a culture so religiously torn apart and full of everything that is not of God? Where is the comfort for those, like myself as a child, having no more than the comfort of the Ten Commandments on the school walls?
By the Seven Spirits of YHVH
Many false doctrines have taken root because some believers stepped out with only part of their training in the Word by the Spirit. It took a long time for the Lord to turn my strong independent will into willing subservient independence for Him and open to hear Him. I haven’t lost anything worth keeping in the process.
The important part of growing in the Lord is having the faith that the Lord really is with born-again believers. He really does speak to us. He really does teach and comfort us. We born-againers who have reached a certain level of YHVH’s understanding and knowledge know that His wisdom, counsel, and strength is always there to help us along the way. In that knowledge and understanding is the wisdom of YHVH and the fear of the Lord. These are the seven spirits before the throne of YHVH represented by the seven lampstands. There is more about the seven spirits throughout my four websites. Being born-again isn't a closed club that won't accept newby's. The invitation is open for all to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Accepting all the truth of Jesus Christ as written in the Judeo/Christian Bible is the only exclusivity. See the tabs above.
YHVH gives and YHVH takes away. But He does all things in love. Even His anger is in righteous love for His creation. I know there are times when in the throws of grief or the agonies of tribulations it is hard to believe the love of YHVH is present, but it is. His hands are always reaching out to His creation to receive it in love. Even His reprimand is done in love just like any loving father. We humans tend to have a natural tendency to act like spoiled brats and to be a bit on the self absorbed side. That kind of behavior and attitude is the sin nature. Those are the things that we must allow the Spirit of YHVH to heal through the knowledge of Him by His Word in the Bible.
The fruit of the Spirit comes through the seven spirits of YHVH in the action of the gifts of the Spirit and varieties of services and ministries in the Spirit. Protecting our freedom in Christ is embedded in the armor of YHVH; the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the Spirit—the Word of YHVH and prayer for all the saints. The armor of YHVH is not militant. We protect our freedom in Christ with the armor of YHVH by testing all doctrines with the TRUTH of YHVH’s Word.
By the Lord's Prayer--Matthew 6:6-13
Vss. 6-8--When you pray
6. But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is

in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.
7. But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their

much speaking.
8. Be not you therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him.
Vss. 9-13--How to Pray
9. After this manner therefore pray: Our Father which is in heaven, Hallowed be your name.
10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the

glory, forever. Amen.
“Us” and “Our” indicates this prayer is in remembrance for all people to YHVH —There is great power in this prayer spoken daily for the world, the church and for individuals. It only takes a minute of sincere prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer Stated in Common Language vss. 9-13:
9. Recognition of YHVH’s supremacy
10. Recognition of the kingdom of heaven and YHVH’s Supreme will in heaven and earth.
11. Recognition that “You cannot live by bread alone, but by every word from the mouth of YHVH.” His Word, the Bible
12. Repentance and gratitude—Forgive our sins against you, YHVH, as we forgive others in gratitude of your

forgiveness.
13. Request for endurance in adversity and deliverance from the evil one. For the kingdom, power, and glory belong

to YHVH forever.
Prayer is talking to YHVH. Conversation with the Lord is considered to be a private matter between you and Him. YHVH (Yahavah) can hear what you say the first time. It doesn’t have to be repeated many times.
People talk to the Lord about many things, in many attitudes and for many reasons. But the Bible teaches us that our prayers should always be in humility, the fear of the Lord, and follow the examples Jesus spoke of in the Beatitudes.
By the Beatitudes listed in Matthew 5:1-48, written before the lesson on how to pray.
We are to seek his righteousness, guidance and counsel, not usurp his power for self power and self indulgence.
Now that a good Word foundation in Father, Son and Holy Spirit is laid it's time to get to work on testing some long standing and fast growing false doctrine.
***********************************************************
MY EARLY EXPERIENCE WITH THE DOCTRINE BEING TESTED BELOW.
I became born-again in 1980, so I don’t have any personal observations to draw from before that time, but I do know that during the 80’s control was at the core of many teachings.
I was a new Christian led to the Lord by friends, or I should say they gave me the gospel message and told me about the Holy Spirit. Fifteen years before at a very rare visit to church I accepted Jesus during the salvation call to receive Jesus. I didn’t understand the strange pull to go to the altar, so I remained seated and accepted in silence. I know now that it was the Spirit urging me, but at that time I knew nothing of the Spirit.
Sadly, there is all too little preaching or teaching about the Spirit of YHVH in most churches. I can say with certainty that the Church at large says, “Let Christ be your example,” but they don’t teach from the Word how, let alone understand it themselves. It is no surprise that everyone wonders why the Church at large hasn’t the power promised by Jesus. They also wonder why so many churches are dwindling in size and disappearing while churches following undetected heretical teachings grow. Who is standing guard to test all doctrines with the TRUTH? It is time to move from milk to meat.
Thirty years ago the process of reinventing the Great Commission was on a roll when so-called Christians started falsely assuming the power of the Holy Spirit. It was demonstrated in the popular practice of casting out demons based on ancestral sin. Unfortunately, they didn’t understand that the only ancestral sin that can be passed on is the sin of Adam through every male. Why couldn’t they trust the truth? God gave us the right to choose between good and evil. Adam had the right to choose God's commandment or Satan's deceit. Adam knew God's command yet he chose Satan's deceit before he ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If we didn't have choice we would be nothing more than puppets on a string. The root of every choice we make is between God's commandments and Satan's deceit. Those choices do not discriminate life's various activities.
There is only one whose father does not have the Adamic curse; that is Jesus whose father is YHVH, the creator of all. Everyone who accepts the truth that Jesus paid the price of Adam’s sin by his death on the cross in our place has a way out from Adam’s sin. Jesus is the door through which the Spirit of YHVH comes into a believer’s life to become, as it were, born-again. Just as Jesus was conceived and born by the power of the Spirit of YHVH, so everyone who believes the whole truth about Jesus is reborn by the power of the Spirit of YHVH; not to pass through the birthing canal again, but by cleansing the Adamic curse from the soul. This is where the original Great Commission comes in. Lay the foundation of Jesus Christ and his teachings and they will come to learn of him and live in his power. Demons and the Holy Spirit cannot co-exist in the same human soul. The truth of Jesus Christ is what breaks the power of sin and Satan’s demons, like putting a hot match to the back end of a blood sucking tick to make it back out.
Another control teaching back then was that a single or widowed woman should have a male head over her as her cover and to guide her. As a new Christian and a widow, my “friends” attempted to smother the flame of the Spirit of YHVH within me. They didn't understand the what they were doing. They castigated me when I shared the wonderful things I learned from the Book of Revelation and the whole Bible. Not once did they praise the Lord for His great work in me, nor did they encourage the ministry He gave me. What would they all do if they knew I revised the KJV to the Word of Yahavah Bible? For clarification, I use the Hebrew name of God, YHVH (Yahavah) Elohim, in preference over the ambiguous words "LORD" and "God"." The address is (www.yahavahbiblekjv3.com). As for the control issue; I am a widow and have lived alone for many years. The head over me is Jesus Christ and the Spirit of YHVH guides and teaches me His ways through the Bible. It hasn't been easy learning to give in to the Spirit of YHVH. I am not a woman alone; I am a house being built on the foundation of Jesus Christ. I repeat, being built. In YHVH’s eyes male and female are equal. They share the sin of Adam equally, they share the price Jesus paid equally, and the Spirit of YHVH comes to them equally. The only difference is the ability and willingness of each male or female to accept the unchangeable truth written in the Bible. Self or YHVH?
The reinvention of the Great Commission began in the second century with an atypical understanding of its context. The phrase, “baptizing them in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit” became a standard phrase of water baptism. The loss of the depth of that phrase is the tap root of church failure today.
THE FIRST DOCTRINE TO TEST IS DOMINIONISM, which is adversely preparing the way for the Fourth Beast. When the last seven years of Daniel's prophecy begins the Dominionists will not know what it is so that when the Beast appears they will think he is the Savior.
Diversity of interpretation, doctrine or general understanding of the Bible is not taught by the Bible.
First of all I want to make it clear that Jesus Christ has dominion of all that is his Father’s. He said, “What is my Father’s belongs to me.” That means that Jesus has dominion over all of God’s creation. We who are faithful to the Word of God and Jesus are his servants. We are to listen to, learn from, and live by the Word of God. We are to ask, not demand. Read Psalm 119.
Dominionism is a very dangerous and militant pseudo-theology of which there are two forms:
1. The Liberation Theology side says that the Church's mandate is to take over the institutions of the
world, i.e. the seven mountains.
2. The Dominion Theology says that we are to take over the Powers of Darkness; we are to take over
the demons; and we are to take over the spirits; and we are to dominate Satan. We are to take
dominion, and that's why Dominionists talk about "Power Evangelism" and "Power Healing."
In other words people are trained by other people, supposedly, to invade the Satanic World and
take dominion over demons.

a. Dominion theology is predicated upon three basic beliefs:

i. Satan usurped man's dominion over the earth through the temptation of Adam and Eve;

ii. The Church is God's instrument to take dominion back from Satan;

iii. Jesus cannot or will not return until the Church has taken dominion by gaining control
of the earth's governmental and Social institutions.
Very, very, very dangerous theology. They might as well be terrorists, because that is the path they are taking. Their theme song appears to be, "I did it my way." They are perverting the truth for their own agenda. The root of false doctrine is: no fear of the Lord and self-centered. Christianity is rooted in the Spirit of YHVH, the fear of YHVH and service to Him. Click HERE for a deeper understanding of the fear of YHVH. We are not to usurp His authority.
Again, during the 80’s the practice of casting out demons was known as Deliverance Ministries. Deliverance Ministers were booked by churches, mostly Pentecostal, to teach Christians how to cast out demons or take dominion over the powers of darkness. I was in a group whose sole purpose was to cast demons residing in the members of their group and of guests. Supposedly, the demons could invade them without their knowledge, sometimes by handling something that could be connected to demonic activity. In the first place demons are spirit entities and cannot enter inanimate things.
The belief was that the sins of ancestors gave demons the right to possess them. DUH! They had a total misunderstanding of what the Bible teaches on sin. I was a 40 year old baby Christian with no church or Bible experience, even so, God worked me through this deception. I took a guest to one of the meetings and at the end she said, "Where is the Love?" That simple question struck me to the core and I realized there was none. My personal Bible studies were telling me that it is the truth of the Word of God and Jesus Christ that sets believers free. So I started to make my pitch to the group for this kind of freedom and love that protects us from Satan’s traps of deceit. Before I started bringing the Word into the group the leader was calling me a prophetess. Two weeks later he kicked me, and the person I came with, out of the group and forbid us to come back. I didn’t realize until now, 30 years later, that what I was taking part in was the Dominion Theology of that day. I had tested the spirit of what the group was doing by the Word and found that the very entity being cast out was actually in control. Double DUH!
Heresy is any teaching that does not agree completely with the Word of YHVH. It can occur in many ways, but for the most part it is the use of scriptures in a twisted sort of way and out of context. It can also occur in the koining of new catch phrases and words that cannot be keyword searched in the Bible and have a different meaning.
If a teaching encourages taking control of anything it is bordering on sinful self. Galatians 5:16-17 NAS—“So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
Seven Mountains of Dominionism
Many other heresies can and have been birthed through Dominionism, mostly because the doctrine attempts to change the meaning of the Great Commission. A current example of a popular teaching of Dominionism is about taking control of the so-called seven mountains;
1) Spirituality and church, 2) Family, 3) Education, 4) Government and Law, 5) Media and Communication, 6) Arts and Entertainment, 7) Business and Finance. This teaching is about demanding that the devils be cast out of these seven “hills” or dominions. This is, essentially, demanding YHVH to do this thing and is very much against the Great Commission in so many ways.
There are several sites that talk about the heretical purpose of Dominionism. Those sites have a greater understanding of what Dominionism is and for how long it has existed. My primary purpose in all of my sites is to teach what Jesus and the Bible teaches. So, I will let one of the other sites speak here.

The following is a series of quotes is from DISCERNMENT MINISTRIES: BEGIN QUOTE
THE MISSING GOSPEL OF SALVATION
Significantly minimized in such documents, if you carefully examine them, is the Gospel of Salvation. Replacing it is the gospel of man's endeavors, causes, concerns and activities. John MacArthur, commenting on this very issue, wrote: "Anything that silences, sidelines, or relegates the gospel to secondary status is antithetical to the principles we affirm when we call ourselves evangelicals." (5. MacArthur, Ibid.) This de-emphasis of the Gospel of Salvation happens to be a key indicator of the presence of Dominionism.
Dominionism In Brief
Throughout the 2000 year history of Christianity there has always been a vein of Dominionism embedded in the strata of doctrines. This seam has ebbed and flowed for 20 centuries, sometimes submerged, sometimes exposed. Whenever out in the open, it has given rise to horrible abuses done in the name of Christ. In the early 21st century, once again this vein is now showing and active. Keep in mind:
• Dominionism is always an aberration of true Christian theology.
• A remnant of believers has always opposed it, often suffering a martyr’s fate at the hands of intolerant

Dominionists.
1) Traditional Christianity teaches:
The Gospel of Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ and His shed blood on the cross. The emphasis is placed upon repentance and conversion of individual souls. The Kingdom of God in this age is spiritual and grows through efforts of evangelism based on teaching the Bible. It is “not of this world” (John 18:36), but a spiritual rule in the hearts of men (Luke 17:20-21). Furthermore, the Kingdom of God is only finally realized upon Christ’s second return to Earth, whereby He Himself establishes His literal and physical reign.
- The evangelism mandate by Word and Spirit
Christ never intended that His gospel should be propagated by fire and sword or His righteousness
wrought by the wrath of man. When the high praises of God are in our mouth with them we should
have an olive-branch of peace in our hands. Christ’s victories are by the power of His gospel and grace
over spiritual enemies, in which all believers are more than conquerors. The word of God is the
two-edged sword (Heb. 4:12), the sword of the Spirit (Eph. 6:17).5 [emphasis added]
Matthew Henry, circa 1700
2) Dominionism teaches:
The Gospel of Salvation is achieved by setting up the “Kingdom of God” as a literal and physical kingdom to be “advanced” on Earth in the present age. Some Dominionists liken the New Testament Kingdom to the Old Testament Israel in ways that justify taking up the sword, or other methods of punitive judgment, to war against enemies of their kingdom. Dominionists teach that men can be coerced or compelled to enter the kingdom. They assign to the Church duties and rights that belong Scripturally only to Jesus Christ. This includes the esoteric belief that believers can “incarnate” Christ and function as His body on Earth to establish His kingdom rule. An inordinate emphasis is placed on man’s efforts; the doctrine of the sovereignty of God is diminished.
- The new dominion mandate by control

Dominion theology is predicated upon three basic beliefs:

a) Satan usurped man’s dominion over the earth through the temptation of Adam and Eve;

b) The Church is God’s instrument to take dominion back from Satan;

c) Jesus cannot or will not return until the Church has taken dominion by gaining control of
the earth’s governmental and social institutions.6 [emphasis added]
Al Dager, Vengeance Is Ours: The Church In Dominion
Dominion theology is a heresy. As such it is rarely presented as openly as the definitions above may indicate. Outside of the Reconstructionist camp, evangelical Dominionism has wrapped itself in slick packages – one piece at a time – for mass-media consumption. This has been a slow process, taking several decades. Few evangelicals would recognize the word “Dominionism” or know what it means. This is because other terminologies have been developed which soft-sell Dominionism, concealing the full scope of the agenda. Many evangelicals (and even their more conservative counterparts, the fundamentalists) may adhere to tidbits of Dominionism without recognizing the error. This is because Dominionism has “crept in unawares” (Jude 4) to seduce an undiscerning generation.
To most effectively propagate their agenda, Dominionist leaders first developed new ecclesiologies, eschatology’s and soteriologies for targeted audiences along the major denominational fault lines of evangelical Christianity. Then the 1990s Promise Keepers men’s movement was used as a vehicle to “break down the walls”, i.e., cross denominational barriers for the purpose of exporting Dominionism to the wider evangelical subculture.7 This strategy was so effective that it reached into the mainline Protestant denominations. Dominionists have carefully selected leaders to be trained as “change agents” for “transformation” (dominion) in an erudite manner that belies the media stereotype of southern-talking, Bible-thumping, fundamentalist half-wits.
THREE SECTS OF EVANGELICAL DOMINIONISM
1. Spiritual Warfare Prayer movement: The Kingdom of God must be advanced on Earth through hyper-spiritual “warfare” activities against the devil. A veritable supermarket of verbal and physical prayer techniques such as chanting, walks, and marches are employed in this effort. Believers are told their prayer power creates spiritual “canopies” over regions, preparing the way for “revival.” In this sense, prayer warfare is seen as preparatory work so that the other two movements can build the kingdom. Recently the contemplative prayer movement – which includes meditation, fasting, and labyrinths – has been brought into the spiritual warfare prayer “arsenal.” Prayer serves as a convenient decoy for covert operations. All three sects are utilizing massive statistical data banking resources (e.g., the World Prayer Center in Colorado Springs) and sophisticated psycho-social group manipulations to forge kingdom “transformation.” One key leader of this sect is Cindy Jacobs, who is closely associated with C. Peter Wagner (see below). Her website http://www.generals.org epitomizes the militant doctrines and practices of the spiritual warfare sect.
2. Transformation movement: The words “revival,” “reformation” and “transformation” now carry embedded Dominionist connotations. “Fulfilling the Great Commission” (Matthew 28:18-20) no longer means spreading the Gospel message by speaking the Word of salvation from the Bible. The Dominionist focus is placed upon the phrase "making disciples", with an incorrect exegesis that is disconcertingly compulsory. Traditional mission evangelism, done one-on-one using the Bible, is being replaced with a slew of “kingdom building” corporate activities for cities, regions and nations. The disingenuous phrase “bless the nations” is often used to conceal Dominionism. Dr. Bill Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ International and Ralph Winter, founder of the U.S. Center for World Mission and editor of the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement curriculum (which has taught Dominionism to an entire generation of missionaries), have been among the chief architects of this movement. (Al Dager, The World Christian Movement, (Sword Publ., 2001). This book reads like a sequel to Vengeance Is Ours by the same author (see footnote 5). It is a cursory look at the rise of the modern mission movement, its roots and doctrines, from a Christian apologetics perspective. Available at http://www.discernment-ministries.org website.)
3. Patriotic American movement: Patriotic Dominionists, most of whom are not Reconstructionist, teach that political action will advance the kingdom of God in America. Using the vehicle of Christian media, they have taught evangelicals for the past three decades that America is a Christian nation and needs to return to its roots. Almost every evangelical in the pew has been influenced in one way or another by this sect. Patriotic Dominionist leaders and their organizations have been closely interlocked financially and politically with the conservatives from the political Right. The secular conservatives purport to uphold morality, which appeals to evangelicals. The combined force of conservatives and evangelicals flexes its political muscles in Washington. One of its most powerful leaders is James Dobson of Focus on the Family. Patriotic Dominionism was widely disseminated through the activities of Jay Grimstead, founder of Coalition on Revival (COR). From its earliest inception COR managed to successfully bring together key leaders from all three Dominionist sects, including the Reconstructionist, to promote the most ruthless doctrines of Dominionism. (Vengeance Is Ours, pp. 235-258.)
END OF QUOTE.
I hope and pray that this page will help open the eyes of believers all over the world, even if it is only a few in many places. Amen and the peace of the Lord be with you.
